Product Description
Melamine, commonly known as melamine, protein essence, molecular formula C3H6N6, IUPAC named "1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triamine", is a triazine nitrogen-containing heterocyclic organic Compounds are used as chemical raw materials. It is a white monoclinic crystal, almost odorless, harmful to the body, and cannot be used in food processing or food additives.
Appearance: white monoclinic crystal.
Melting point: 354°C
Boiling point: 557.54°C
Flash point: 325.2°C
Refractive index: 1.826
Density: 1.661g/cm3
Solubility: insoluble in water, slightly soluble in ethylene glycol, glycerin, ethanol, insoluble in ether, benzene, carbon tetrachloride
It is non-flammable and stable at room temperature. The aqueous solution is weakly alkaline (pH=8), and can form melamine salt with hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, acetic acid, oxalic acid, etc. In neutral or slightly alkaline conditions, it condenses with formaldehyde to form various methylol melamines, but in slightly acidic conditions (pH=5.5~6.5) it undergoes polycondensation reaction with methylol derivatives to form resins. When it is hydrolyzed with strong acid or strong alkali aqueous solution, the amine group is gradually replaced by hydroxyl group, firstly to generate ammeline, further hydrolyzed to generate ammeline, and finally to generate cyanuric acid.
Molar refractive index: 33.23
Molar volume (cm3/mol): 75.9
Isotonic specific volume (90.2K): 267.2
Surface tension (dyne/cm): 153.2
Polarizability (10-24cm3): 13.17
It is mainly used as the main raw material for the manufacture of melamine formaldehyde resin, as a reagent for organic element analysis, and also used as a tanning agent and filler for leather processing in the synthesis of organic and resin.
